Description

This collection of short exploratory works collects the most inspired unpublished writings of E.D.E. Bell between 2021 and 2025. In these pages wait abandonment and isolation, but also hope, bravery—and love.

“Every moment in every story feels real, even the ones involving magic or metaphor. This collection tastes home baked with love, outrage, good intentions, and the need to be seen and appreciated in all our complex, overlapping identities.”—Clara Ward, author of Be the Sea

“To be seen, to be heard, to be touched – that’s what every human being would like. This collection is heart-felt, baring vulnerable emotions, so that the stories connect with the reader. Read, savor, understand with empathy.”—Joyce Chng, Hugo Award winning editor and author of Wolf’s Path

E.D.E. Bell

E.D.E. Bell (she/e) loves fantasy fiction, and enjoys blending classic and modern elements. A passionate vegan and earnest progressive, she feels strongly about issues related to equality and compassion. Her works are quiet and queer and often explore conceptions of identity and community, including themes of friendship, family, and connection. She lives in Ferndale, Michigan, where she writes stories and revels in garlic. You can follow her adventures at edebell.com.

Bell was born in the year of the fire dragon during a Cleveland blizzard. After a youth in the Mitten, an MSE in Electrical Engineering from the University of Michigan, three wonderful children, and nearly two decades in Northern Virginia and Southwest Ohio developing technical intelligence strategy, she started the indie press Atthis Arts. Working through mental disorders and an ever-complicated world, she now tries to bring light and love as she can through fantasy fiction, as a proud part of the Detroit arts community.
